John 21:3-6
'Simon Peter said, “I’m going fishing.” “We’ll come, too,” they all said. So they went out in the boat, but they caught nothing all night. At dawn Jesus was standing on the beach, but the disciples couldn’t see who he was. He called out, “Fellows, have you caught any fish?” “No,” they replied. Then he said, “Throw out your net on the right-hand side of the boat, and you’ll get some!” So they did, and they couldn’t haul in the net because there were so many fish in it.'
One act of obedience, no questions asked, led to an abundant harvest or reward
They had literally JUST come back from being out fishing all night and catching nothing.
They could have argued with Jesus like "man we already tried that, there's nothing out there". But instead, they just dropped the net as instructed and ended up with so much fish they couldn't even pull the net back into the boat.
Is there something you've already tried and seemingly failed at? Has God told you to try again? Are you going to willingly be obedient? Or are you holding on to your previous "L" and trying to convince God it won't work?
They had every reason not to believe there were any fish out there, but they dropped the net anyway. Past experience may have you convinced that it makes no sense to try again. You might even feel crazy for considering it but do it anyway.
Just because it didn't work before, doesn't mean it won't work this time. Try again, if He's telling you to do it, it's probably because it's going to be different this time...maybe even better than you could have ever imagined.
