If you use the YouVersion Bible app, you may have noticed that the verse of the day a few days ago was Nahum 1:7 which says: The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in Him. (NLT)
A lot of times, I like to compare different versions to see how they differ or to get a better understanding. For this verse, this is what stuck out to me:
He protects those who trust in him in times of trouble (CEV)
...a stronghold in the day of distress; he cares for those who take refuge in him (CSB)
He cares for those who trust in Him (NIV)
He knows [recognizes, cares for, and understands fully] those who take refuge and trust in Him. (AMP)
And from that, I got this thought/confession:
The Lord is good. He is there for me in times of trouble or distress. He is with me, He knows and cares for me because I trust Him. I trust Him because He knows and cares for me.
I kind of think of it like a circle or never ending loop. I trust > He cares and protects > He cares and protects > I trust Him (times infinity). So, today's post is just a reminder to choose to trust God. I mean, why not?
